Prof. Zhang was born in August 1964.He currently serves as the doctoral supervisor and Vice President of Northwest Polytechnic University. He is a distinguished professor in the second batch of “Yangtze river scholars” of the Ministry of Education and the winner of National Distinguished youth fund. He is mainly engaged in cutting process optimization for aircraft lightweight thin-wall structure, structural lightweight and performance optimization design. He is the vice chairman of Association of Simulation and Multidisciplinary Optimization design (ASMDO), member of International society for Structural and multidisciplinary optimization (ISSMO), editor-in-chief of International Journal for Simulation and Multidisciplinary Design Optimization, editor of Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization.
He has published more than 400 academic papers, including more than 250 papers included in SCI. He was nominated as the 511 Talent Project of the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and National Level Candidate of the “Bai-Qian-Wan” Talent Project in the new century. He has won one second prize of National Natural Science Award, two first prizes of Provincial and Ministerial level and three Second Prizes. One doctoral student was awarded National Excellent Thesis of Aerospace Science and Technology, and two doctoral students were nominated for Candidate of National Excellent Doctoral Thesis.
